Plenty of End of Season Pitch and Putt Action
The Paddy Power Shield 3 ball scramble is a club competition in memory of Paddy Power one of the stalwarts of Hillview. We were delighted that Tom and Marcella Power were able to join us for the presentation and wish to thank the Power family most sincerely for their generous and continued sponsorship of this event. There was a fantastic entry of 13 teams for this event which demonstrates how much people appreciate Paddy's work and dedication to Hillview.Following a great day's play and some terrific scoring the trio of Sean O 'Connor, Kathleen Foran and Ger Cronin claimed the Paddy Power Shield for 2018. The runners up were the team of John Fitzgerald, Veronica Anglim and Noel Byrne. The Tipperary County Board Open 3 ball Scramble was held in Hillview on Sunday 11th November. It started off a beautiful morning with close to 40 teams competing. Even though the weather turned pretty miserable teams struggled through to try and get their hands on the trophy. At the end of the day the trophy remained in Hillview with the team of Paul Sweeney, Nora Whelan & Breda Howell emerging victorious by the slimmest of margins from club compatriots Kyle Kennedy, Darren O 'Donnell & Ger Cronin in runners up spot. Overall gross prize was won by a team from Fermoy for the second year running.The Annual Memorial Trophy was held recently in honour of deceased pitch and putt members. Overall, Pauline Lucey emerged victorious by the slimmest of margins from Kyle Kennedy. In the Ladies section Veronica Anglim claimed the Nett Runner Up spot with Kathleen Shanley winning the gross prize. The second and third Nett prizes went to Nora Whelan and Bridget Walsh respectively. The overall gents gross went to Noel Joyce with 19 under. Great to see Noel back shooting serious scores again. Gross runner up was James Cleary. Senior Nett was won by John Fitzgerald, Inter Nett winner Davy Hallinan and Junior Nett went to Brendan Cronin.We had another good turnout for the McInerney & Millea Cup Competitions. Pauline Lucey continued her winning run picking up the Millea Cup with a few shots to spare from Veronica Anglim in second. Our lady captain Nora Whelan won the gross prize. The gents contested the McInerney Cup and Ger Cronin was declared the winner on a countback from newcomer Darren O ‘Donnell. The gents gross was won by James Cleary with a score of 16 under par. On the 17th
November the Hillview Lotto Jackpot was worth €1,800. The numbers drawn were 8-15-19-23, and there were 2 match threes. The Next Lotto Draw will take place on Saturday 24th Nov at 9.00p.m. The Jackpot will now be worth only €1,900. Tickets are €1 each and can be bought from ticket sellers, or at the Hillview Bingo every Monday & Friday Night or at the Club Bar every night. Buy-ins for 2018 are now due, they are available at €45.00 for 1 year. If you're not in you can't win.
