Junior Stars Shine at Hillview Junior Tennis

Lucy Pizay Deely over in Clonmel for her annual vacation was a star for the future at the Hillview Junior Open Tennis, she won the under 12 and 14 singles and teamed up with Hillview's Owen Quigley to win mixed doubles under 12. Lucy is highly ranked in the Paris area. Fernando Garcia Seeber from Larkspur, also had a good tournament, winning boys under 14 singles and doubles with Will Bermingham, St Anne's and was runner up in boys under 16, Dillon Murray from Limerick was the winner of this event. Sean Moroney, Hillview and Katie Moroney, Donabate won the under 14 mixed dbs against David and Anna O'Brien, Tipp County. Darragh Healy, Kilfeckle was runner up in under 12, which was won by Rubin McCarthy, Limerick. ¬†Darragh Healy and David O'Brien tasted success in the under 12 doubles. Darragh also teamed up with Grace Dalton for runner up in the mixed event. Dillon Murray, Limerick was a singles and doubles winner with Kal McCarthy in the under 16 events. Anna Downey, Larkspur continued her success in Hillview by winning the under 18 girls from Lora Dimitrovia from Galway. Grace Dalton, Larkspur won the tournament shield award Hillview would like to thank Tournament Directors Dean O'Mahoney and Sandra Charles and their many helpers in café and barbecue for their great efforts in ensuring event success. Also thanks to Barrister Frank Quirke for his continued support.

We are running Open American tournaments every Weds during August, starting at 7:30, Aidan Barry is the tournament leader, come along and partake, open to members and visitors.

Winners were the team of Michael Kennedy, Bridget Walsh and Kathleen Campbell. Runners up were the fourball of Declan Fahey, Pauline Lucey, Evelyn Cahill and John Cooney. Gross winners were Paul Sweeney, Mary Moloney and John Cawley with fourth prize going to the team of Sean Cronin, Lorraine Creed and Ann Delahunty.

Congratulations to Sean Cronin on his win in the Fermoy junior Scratch Cup. Sean was previously a junior member of the club and it's great to see himself and his friends back in the fold this year. He is having a fantastic season and this win will move him up into the intermediate ranks.

Club Lotto

On the 4th¬†August the Hillview Lotto Jackpot was worth €5,400. The numbers drawn were 5 -10-11-19 and there were 4 match 3 winners. The Next Lotto Draw will take place on Saturday 11th August at 9.00p.m. The Jackpot will now be worth €5,500. Tickets are €1 each and can be bought from ticket sellers, or at the Hillview Bingo every Monday & Friday Night or at the Club Bar every night. Buy-ins for 2018 are now due, they are available at €45.00 for 1 year. If you're not in you can't win.
