Noel Byrne elected PresidentHillview Sports Club
Congratulations to Noel Byrne who was elected as President of Hillview Sports Club at the recent well attended AGM. Noel has been a great asset to the Club with his many practical contributions over the years. Noel was presented with the chain of office by Seamus O'Doherty, who stepped down after his latest 3 year stent as President. Seamus has served the club well over the years, as he has served as President 12 times, since first elected in 1978. By any account, this was a great voluntary service to a Clonmel institution over a prolonged period of years. Also wishing a good year to our newly elected Sports Captains, Adrian Anglim and Nora Whelan in Pitch and Putt, Frank Costigan is back in charge of Badminton and Declan Tarrant will guide Tennis.
This year is another important year for Hillview, as we will have projects in progress, with the latest Sports Capital Grant, plan to replace carpet on Court 4 and install new irrigation system on Pitch and Putt course. We also were approved for a Leader grant to improve access and infrastructure. The tennis committee will be organising a Spring League due to start on Feb 19th
, the first Pitch and Putt competition is scheduled for Feb 11th
and badminton is on every Monday and Thursday evening. Club Lotto
