Pitch and Putt - Jason Cunningham and Ann Wall Win Captains Prizes
It was a busy week; apart from the usual Tuesday Night scramble we also ran an Adult / Juvenile Scramble with the Captains Prizes event on the Sunday. The week ended with the Captains Prizes competition. Despite it being held on a typically Irish summers day featuring a mix of sunshine, heavy rain and the odd bang of thunder we had an excellent turnout and some great competition. The overall result was still in doubt as the final pairing trekked up the 18th fairway. Results were as follows:Ladies - overall nett winner - Ann Wall, overall nett runner up - Veronica Anglim overall gross- Pauline Lucey, 0-11 net - Kathleen Shanley, 12 + net - Bridget Walsh, Final 18- Mary MaloneyGents - overall nett winner - Jason Cunningham, overall nett runner up - Tom Morris, overall gross - Stephen O'Reilly, Senior nett- James Cleary, Inter and Junior nett- Paul Sweeney, Final !8 - Seanie O'ConnorPresentation of prizes took place in the clubhouse immediately after the event. Thanks to all who helped run the event. What can I say but that the skill of many of the Juveniles put the the so-called senior players to shame and showed how the game should be played.
