Pitch and Putt

Plenty of Pitch and Putt competitions being run, there were two Scrambles last week, the usual Tuesday Night and an Open on the Thursday. Both were strongly supported and we thank all who attended, Paul Sweeney is very much the in form player and with his team members dominated both events. Results were as follows:

Tuesday Night:

Winners - Evelyn Cahill, Nora Whelan and Paul Sweeney.

Runners up - Pauline Lucey, Anne Fitzgerald, Dave Forrest and John Cooney

Gross winners- Lorraine Creed, John Cawley, John Timoney and Tom Morris

Thursday Night:

Winners- Anne Fitzgerald, Breda Howell and Paul Sweeney

Runners up - Veronica Anglim, John Cooney and Michael Kennedy

Gross winners - Paddy Kenrick, Danny Gibbons and Jimmy Quinn.

Congratulations to the Hillview trio of James Cleary, Paul Sweeney and David Cahill who came through the qualifying rounds in Nenagh. They will now play in the National Gents Strokeplay Finals. It will be all hands to the wheel as the Hillview members and staff prepares the course and the Clubhouse for the National Gents Strokeplay Finals which the Club will host on July 15 & 16.  Also congratulations to Kathleen Shanley, Veronica Anglim and Pauline Lucey who qualified to play in the National Ladies Strokeplay Finals in Cement Pitch and Putt Club in Drogheda. Pauline played well but was outside the top 8 playoff places and Veronica was pleased with her performance. Kathleen was unable to participate.

Tennis

Juniors, now with school over, make progress by playing your ladder matches and see entry forms for Castleview Open Week. Also see posters about Open American tournaments and multi sports days during July. For adults, fun tournaments continue every Wednesday.

Club Lotto

On Saturday 1st July the Hillview Lotto Jackpot was €1,500. The numbers drawn were 9,10,22,24 and there were 3 match 3s. The Next Lotto Draw will take place on Saturday 8th July at 9.30p.m. The Jackpot will now be worth €1,600. Tickets are €1 each and can be bought from ticket sellers, or at the Hillview Bingo every Monday & Friday Night or at the Club Bar every night. Buy-ins for 2017 are now due, they are available at €45.00 for 1 year. If you're not in you can't win.
