Pitch and Putt

David Cahill Wins Hillview Open.

After the sun of the previous weekend, cooler conditions greeted players competing for the Dom Kavanagh Trophy. With a mixture of local and outside players competing, competition was always going to be keen, and that is what happened. The spoils finally went to local player David Cahill who was lifting the trophy for the second time in three years. This second victory confirms the significant improvement David has made in his game since his return to Hillview just a few years ago. In second place overall was Anthony Culhane (Tipp. Hills) who returned a magnificent gross score of 23 under which on another day would have brought him victory. For the presentation of prizes later that we were joined by members of the Kavanagh family, sponsors of the event and Club President Seamus O'Doherty. In his speech Seamus again thanked the family for their generous and continuing support. He also thanked those who helped make the day possible and all players who participated. Full results were as follows (all players from Hillview except where otherwise stated.)
