Congratulations to the Hillview Men's D team who won the teams of four county badminton final against Nenagh in Roscrea. This is the first adult county success for many years, thanks to the efforts of Frank Costigan and Aine Madden in rejuvenating Badminton in Hillview. The team was Greville Madden, Thorsten Konekamp, Joseph Kiely and Aidan Barry. We have a number of other teams competing in other divisions of the county league.


The Hospice Santa Fun Night Fundraiser attracted a very diverse group of players; the round robin format kept it very interesting right to the end, Overall it was very enjoyable, and a great evening for tennis. The winners were the ultra-competitive Martin Ormond and Annmaire Quigley, the joint runners up were Paul Foley and Alison Walsh, with Dave Johnson and Margaret Foley. Thanks to Michael Murray and Noel Byrne for the administration and Annmaire for the catering.


On the social and community aspects very busy in December, recently hosted the Clonmel and District annual wheelchair mass and dinner, also the Peaks Mountaineering Club had a social after their long trek over the mountains. Last week we hosted, the annual Garda / Senior Citizens Party and if you want some exercise after Christmas, Carmel Boyle has a Ceili on Weds December 28th.

Club Lotto. On the 17th Dec the Hillview Lotto Jackpot was worth €3,700. The numbers drawn were7-13-17-19. There was no winner of the Jackpot. There were 4 tickets with 3 numbers. The Next Lotto Draw Jackpot will now be worth €3,800. Tickets are €1 each and can be bought from ticket sellers, or at the Hillview Bingo every Monday & Friday Night or at the Club Bar every night. Buy-ins for 2017 are now due, they are available at €45.00 for 1 year. If you're not in you can't win.
