Tennis - Club Championships
Despite the mixed weather, we had a great week to run the club championships, it was dry every evening, even on Saturday, as it dried up at 4. After 6 evenings of competition, these are the people that were left standing on Finals Day. Congratulations to David Hannon who won the Div. 1 singles beating Declan Tarrant in the final. Aidan Gaughran won the Div. 5 against David Johnson. Joanne Lynch continued her good form Castleview in winning the ladies from Sandra Charles. In the doubles Declan Tarrant and Yvonne Carolan teamed up to beat Dean O'Mahoney and Siobhan Slator. In the ladies doubles Cora Morrissey and Ann Walsh won against Nuala Smith and Kathleen McGrath. In the Div. 5, Margaret Quirke and Alison Walsh beat Nuala O'Connell and Ann Commins. In the mixed 5, Richard Thompson and Sandra Charles won against Miroslav Hinner and Deirdre Garrett. It was very pleasing to see a wide variety of players featuring. Again thanks to our sponsors, Hillview Flamingo Bingo and all who participated.Juniors, please sign up for the new junior ladder, this will give you a variety of games and put that coaching into practise.
