Congratulations to Ann Wall and Tom Morris in winning the Captains Prizes. There was a terrific turnout for the Captains Prize played on Sunday July 10th, this despite a number of counter attractions at home and abroad. A 36 hole stroke event with playoffs over a further 18 holes for the top 12 ladies and gents, this meant a long and tiring day for those competing at the top. Copious cups of tea, cakes, tarts etc supplied by the Ladies did go a long way to alleviate whatever tiredness people did feel. The latest instalment went ahead on Tuesday July 12. We had a terrific turnout once again and some hot scoring. Overall Nett Winners were the team of Marie Savage, John Cooney and Stephen O' Reilly. In second place were the trio of Lorraine Creed, Adrian Anglim and Paul Sweeney. The gross prize went to the duo of Pauline Lucey and Michael Kennedy.We ran two very successful " Open" scrambles ,at which it was great to see some old faces back on the course but many new ones as well which augurs well for the future. The next "Open” scramble will weather permitting take place on Tuesday July 19 with a 7.00pm start, get there as early as you can to allow the admin. to be done and to get all out on course without delay.The next club competition for the Ely Centra Gross will go ahead on Sunday July 24.
Evan Fitzgerald had another very good week at the Greystones Junior Open, where he got to the final of the under 18 singles, this is his second final in 2 weeks and he is building up his national ranking points.Congratulations to Hillview junior member Daire Lynch who won 3 All Ireland medals at the National Rowing Championships last weekend.Other Activities
Hillview was a very busy place last week, with Jaco's Tennis Camp, the Lego Learn It Camp in the Hall and the Clonmel Wheel Chair Annual Barbecue.Club Lotto
On the 16th July 2016 the Hillview Lotto Jackpot was worth €1,500. The numbers drawn were 9-11-20-21. There was no Winner of the Jackpot. There were 5 tickets with 3 numbers. The Next Lotto Draw will take place on Saturday 23rd July 2016 at 9.00p.m. The Jackpot will now be worth €1,600. Tickets are €1 each and can be bought from ticket sellers, or at the Hillview Bingo every Monday & Friday Night or at the Club Bar every night.
