Good win for the Vets in Inter Firms TennisInter Firms and Groups Tennis Finals.
After 2 weeks of intensive competition, the winners in a very competitive Premier Section were Captain Martin Ormond, Michael Prendergast, Katherine Morrissey and Caroline Bolger who just got the better of the Larkspur / Kilfeacle team of Moss Ahern, Ian Murphy, Aine Lonergan and Theresa Keating by just 1 point, it finished 31 to 30. In the A section the Larkspur team of Arthur Fitzelle, Damian Murphy, Josie Fitzelle and Annmaire O 'Sullivan were winners over Norita Rings team. In the B section, the Ballypatrick team of Carol Gibbs won against the Hillview team of Jonathon Cooney. In the C section the Hillview team with Deirdre and Paul Garrett, John Carolan and Olivia O'Mahoney prevailed. In the D section, the Final was between 2 MSD teams, with Bill Moffet winning. Again thanks to all the participants and our sponsors the MSD Sports and Social Club, Quality Recycling and McDonalds Big Mac. Cool but sunny conditions greeted early entrants in this County Board event sponsored by Shortts Drapery Templemore ( Michael O'Brien) at Hillview. After a long day's play and some cracking scoring, the winners in the various categories were as follows.Overall Nett winners were the Tipperary Hills trio of Richard Swords, Ray Lyons and Michael Brennan with a fine score of 62 including a second 18 of 18 birdies- brilliant.The runners-up and the long-time leaders were the Hillview trio of Veronica Anglim. David Cahill and Michael Kennedy. A special well done to Veronica in her first competition.The gross prize went to the powerful Tipperary Hills team of Anthony Culhane, DJ Lynch and Seanie Cummins with a score of 77.Prizes were presented to the winners in the club house by County Board Chairman Michael Brennan and Secretary Helen McMorrow.Club Spring League:
