Great Success for Hillview Players in Limerick Tournament

Hillview players had great success at the recent Limerick Vets tournament; this is one of the biggest and competitive tournaments on the circuit. Eugene O'Mahoney won the under 45 singles and the bionic man Martin Ormonde, just back from injury, had a great win in the under 55 category. Michael Prendergast was also successful in the 60 doubles with Dick McCarthy and was a runner up in the mixed. William Guiry was also a winner in mixed doubles in his category. Michael Murray and some new entrants to the circuit Anne Durkan and Siobhan Slater also performed well. The event in Sunday's Well was postponed due to the bad weather last Sunday.

Inter Firms and Groups Tennis. The annual Inter Firms and Groups Tournament is on again this week and we are again grateful to the MSD Sports and Social Club and Quality Recycling for their continued sponsorship for this popular event. The format is round robins, therefore all teams still capable of qualifying for the knock out stage. Semi Finals on Thurs and Friday with Finals scheduled for Saturday evening. Thanks to Siobhan Slater and the McDonalds Big Mac team for the great barbecue and video show last Thursday.
