Great Tennis Week for Hillview
Hillview had two teams in the Munster winter league quarter finals at the weekend. Our ladies Grade 4 took on Douglas, Cork at home while our G3 mixed team travelled to the rebel Carrigaline for their encounter. The good news is that we won in both 3-1. Our girls of Sinead Mc Sweeney (Capt), Mary Wall, Kathleen Deely, Ann Marie Moroney got off to a great start, Sinead and Mary put the first match in their pocket taking a tie break in second set. Kathleen and Ann Marie did the same with a third set sizzling four game march to take the deciding third set. In the reverse doubles, Sinead and Mary won 2-0 while Ann Marie and Kathleen lost their match to the battling Douglas pair. Our Div. 3 mixed doubles team of Dean O Mahoney (Capt) Michael Moroney, Ann Walsh and Nuala Smith, in the rebel county took the Carrigaline team to a decisive win. The doubles went with Hillview and a decisive mixed sealed the day for Hillview 3-1. Two teams in the semis; this is a great accomplishment for the Hillview club.
