David Cahill caps great season by winning Pitch and Putt President's Prize
With the weather gods once again smiling on us we had an excellent turnout for the President's (Seamus O'Doherty) Prize held on Sunday 11 October. In keeping with the conditions the scoring was hot especially amongst the men. After a long day, with the result in doubt right up to the end before Dave Cahill was declared the overall winner. The full results were as follows: Ladies: Overall net winner - Nora Whelan, Overall gross winner - Shula McCarthy, 0-11 net winner- Breda O'Donnell, 12- 18 net winner- Mary Maloney.
Gents: Overall net runner-up- Derek McGee, Overall gross winner - Stephen O'Reilly, Senior net winner- John Fitzgerald, Inter net winner - Paul McGee, Junior net winner- Tom Morris.At the presentation in the clubhouse later that evening, the President thanked all who played and who had supported the event. He also thanked the Pitch & Putt Committee for their work in organising this and other competitions during the year. He also thanked the groundsmen for their work in producing an excellent course.From all of us a special thanks to our ladies, led by Lady Captain Mary Maloney, for producing a mountain of food which was enjoyed by all during the day and the night that followed.Upcoming events

Table Tennis is restarting on Wednesday evenings at 8:30, the first few weeks will be social nights to get people back into the swing, hopefully, we will see some new players in this term. In November, the captain John Fitzgerald is planning to run 3 pre Christmas tournaments.
Juniors - Ella and Jaco are running a Junior Tournament for all members next Sat 24th Oct, at 2 PM.Adults - Eugene is running an Open American Tournament on Thurs 22nd at 7:30 PM.Winter League is starting on Monday Nov 2nd; entry sheet is on the noticeboard. Please support these events.Club Lotto
On Saturday 17TH October 2015 the Hillview lotto Jackpot was worth €1,000. The numbers drawn were 12-14-20-24. There was no Winner of the Jackpot, there were 2 match 3s who won 50 euro each. The Next Lotto Draw will take place on Saturday 26TH October 2015 at 8.30p.m. The Jackpot will be worth €1,100. Tickets are €1 each and can be bought from ticket sellers, or at the Hillview Bingo every Monday & Friday Night or at the Club Bar every night. Buy-ins for 2015 are now due, they are available at €45.00 for 1 year.
