TennisGreat Start to Hillview Tennis Junior Open Week
We had a great start both in terms of weather and quality for the under 10 tournament run on Sunday; in the boys there were 17 entries from all over Munster. The winner for the 2nd year in a row was James Pizey - Deely on his annual summer vacation in Clonmel, after round robins and knock outs he narrowly beat another great prospect Josh Hegarty, Castleview. In the girls section, the winner was Erin Perran from Rushbrooke, who beat Rachel Barron from Limerick. We are grateful to Mr Frank Quirke, Barrister at Law for sponsoring Junior Open Week. Tournament is running all week for all other age groups under 12, 14, 16 and 18, with finals on Saturday.South Tipp League

Pitch and Putt
Our notes this week must start with the sad news of the death of one our members, Matty Anglim. Though we in Pitch & Putt were privileged to know Matty for only a short while, he made an impact on all as gentlemen like Matty do, because a gentleman is what Matty was in the truest sense of the word. Our thoughts and sympathy are with Matty's family at this difficult time but especially with Adrian (son) and Veronica Anglim (daughter - in- law) both popular members of HillviewMatty, may the soil of your beloved Rosegreen rest lightly on your chest this day, may your good deeds among us be remembered and rewarded in Heaven.--- R.I.P.Tuesday Scramble:
Our latest scramble was played on Aug 4th with another excellent turnout despite the iffy conditions. The winning team were Evelyn Cahill, Mary Maloney and Michael Kennedy with an excellent score of 15 under. one shot behind were the trio of Kathleen Foran, Paddy Buck and Adrian Anglim. A further shot back winner of the gross the team of Ann Wall, Laura O'Hanrahan and Mario Smith.Juvenile Scramble:
Friday Aug 7 saw the return of juvenile competition to Hillview after too long an absence. To celebrate this special day the Committee decided that rather than giving out the usual prizes for first, second and third, that all who played would receive a prize. We could do this only because of the generous sponsorship received from James Cleary, Conor Fleming and Joe Hickey, Thank you gentlemen for your interest and support from all in Hillview. A splendid total of 15 boys and girls entered, we thank them and of course the Mums and Dads also for their encouragement. At the presentation of prizes Club President Seamus O'Doherty congratulated the boys and girls and all who helped make an enjoyable day possible.Upcoming events:
