Zack Murphy from Castleview, followed up his under 10’s win with a Runners-up spot in the under 12’s singles. Kilkenny players had a lot of success at the doubles and mixed doubles events. The full results are also available on the Tennis Ireland T6ournament website. The club is very appreciative of Frank Quirkes sponsorship of this tournament. In the Boy’s under 10’s final very good prospect Zack Murphy from Castleview in Carrick, beat Mark O’Brien from Latin by 6 games to 4. There were also good performances from 2 Hillview Players Eddie Dunphy and 8 year old Conor Guiry in the semi-finals. The Girls competition was a very competitive affair with 4 players in contention for a place in the Final. Eventually it was a final between Clubmates Abby Gilsenan and Fainchi Pryal both from Kilkenny. It was Abby Gilsenan who came through for victory. This competition had an international flavour with Pizeys / Kellys (Deely Gathering) returning from France to take part in Clonmel.
Congratulations also to Club Members Evan Whitty Fitzgerald who won the under 14’s Mixed Doubles in the St. Anne’s Open. Aisling Whelan was our other Member who was Runner-up in the under 14’s Mixed Doubles in St. Anne’s.
