Club Notes: 23rd June 2013

Club Lotto:

On Saturday 22nd June 2013 the Hillview Lotto Jackpot was worth €3,900.  The numbers drawn were 12-17-20-22.  There was no Winner of the Jackpot.  There were 3 Tickets with 3 numbers.  The winning tickets each get €40.00.
The Next Lotto Draw will take place on Saturday 29th June 2013.  The Jackpot will be worth €4,000.  Tickets are €1 each and can be bought from ticket sellers and at the Club Bar.  Buy-ins for 2013 are now due, they are available at €45.00 for 1 year.  If you’re not in you can’t win.
 

Club Bingo:

The Hillview Bingo takes place every Monday night in St. Marys Hall in Irishtown.  Prizes are good and the Jackpot is €1,000.  Come along and have a good night out for very little.
 

Tennis:

Senior Open Week:

The annual senior open week sponsored by Ryan Motor Power and Pinewood Healthcare was a great success this year with 200 players from 12 clubs playing in 22 different categories.  There was an excellent entry in the premier and other top grade competitions.  The Winner of the Men’s Premier Singles was 15 year old Morgan Lohan from Tramore, who beat Tommy Rochford from Kilkenny in the final.  Morgan is ranked in the top 5 in under 16’s in Ireland.  Brian Fogarty and Gareth McGlinchy from Larkspur won the Grade 1&2 Doubles.  Martin Ormonde and Niamh Kennedy came from a set down to beat Grace Durkin and Jaco Oosthysun in the Grade 1&2 Mixed Doubles.  Niamh also won the Ladies 1&2 Grades Doubles with Mary Power from Castleview.  The prizes were well shared out amongst the clubs, with Larkspur, Castleview, New Inn, Causeway and Kilfeacle doing well.  Other Hillview winners were Cora Morrissey who followed up her success in Dungarvan in the Ladies Grade 6 Singles she beat Alison Walsh in the Final.  Well done to Gerry Burke who won the Grade 5 Singles.  Hillview Runners-up were Deirdre and Paul Garrett in the Grade 6 Mixed, Eugene Cooney and Niall Darcy in the Grade 6 Doubles, also Eugene in the Grade 6 Singles.  Ann Durkan was runner-up in the Ladies grade 5 Singles.  Gabrielle Cahill and Margaret Foley were runners-up in the grade 5 Ladies Doubles.  The Veteran Michael Murray had a busy week in 3 competitions and was runner-up in the grade 4 Men’s Singles.  Eddie O’Brien teamed up with Caroline Bolger from Kilsheelan to be runners-up in the grade 4 mixed.  The full results can be viewed on the Tennis Ireland Tournament planner, Hillview Senior Open week 2013.
 
 

Condon Cup 2013:

The Condon Cup team competition is scheduled for Friday 5th July to tie in with the Condon Family Gathering at Hillview. This competition is open to players of all grades.  The entry sheet is on the notice board in the Hallway.
 

Tennis Summer Camp:

Hi everyone please take note, there will be a Tennis Summer Camp in Hillview. The dates are 23rd to 26th July, Age group 6 to 12 years.  Time 11.00am to 1.00pm Tuesdays to Fridays. The Cost will be €30.00 per-child.  The sign up sheet will be on the notice board in the Hallway from next week onwards, or you can contact Paschal on 086-8540228.
 

Pitch and Putt:

Tuesday Night Scramble:

On Tuesday 18th June last there was a very good turnout for the annual Tuesday scramble.  The Results are as follows: Overall Winners were Colin Halley, Evelyn Cahill & Michael Kennedy with 88.  Overall Runners-up were Amy Joyce, Enda Phelan & Noel Joyce 88.  Overall Third were Mary Moloney, Kathleen Foran & John Fitzgerald with 88.  The Tuesday scrambles will continue on the 25th June.  Come along and have some fun.  Open to all club members.
 

National Strokeplay’s:

Congratulations to David White, James Cleary and Stephen O’Reilly who all qualified to represent Hillview in the National Strokeplay finals which will take place in Rocklodge in Cork on Sunday 28th July.
 

Badminton:

Hillview Social badminton takes place every Tuesday at 9.00pm and Friday at 8.00pm.  All standards are very welcome.
 
Please note Fee’s for Groups wishing to book for outings for Tennis, Badminton, Table Tennis and Pitch & Putt will be accepted.  You can contact Hillview Sports Club by phone on 052-6121805 at any time between 10.30am and 10.30pm every day.
